More than 600 alumni and guests returned to Beloit for Homecoming/Reunion, held the weekend of Sept. 15-17, 2006. Between an ambitious schedule of events, picture-perfect Wisconsin weather, and the long-awaited reunion of old friends, it was a weekend that inspired smiles, spirited singing, and scores of happy memories.
Celebrating their 50th reunion, the class of 1956 made a strong impact during Homecoming 2006. With 74 members present, they had 44 percent of their entire class in attendance. They were largely responsible for the exuberant singing of College songs during the annual Alumni Assembly, and they also raised the bar on the tradition of class gifts in honor of milestone reunions: Their record-breaking gift of $1.6 million propelled total class giving to $2.9 million for 2006 Homecoming.
Six alumni of significant achievement were honored during the annual assembly in Eaton Chapel. To see more photos of Homecoming/Reunion 2006, go to the alumni section of Beloit’s Web site (www.alumni.beloit.edu), then click on “photo gallery.”
